Step one
If you are looking to re-enter the workforce or expand your academic skills, we will be able to help. ESL and GED classes will be available with shorter-term accreditation classes. All residents of Dallas County, 16+ years with no Bachelor or Advanced Degree are eligible for Step One.
Step two
For those who have already succeeded in Step One inside or outside of DCAT, Step Two at DCAT features career training programs that will help you lead a more productive and meaningful life. Programs will focus on middle-skill occupations (jobs that can be entered with less than a four-year degree but more than a high school diploma), currently in demand in the local market, pay a living wage, place you on a career pathway, and provide a dignified work environment.
For Workforce Training & Education, the following are being considered:
· Practical Nursing Medical Technicians & Phlebotomists with an emphasis on Mental Health
· Medical Coding & Medical Record Techs
· Industrial Maintenance careers
· Supply Chain & Customer Service careers
· Plumbers, Electricians, Carpentry, Painting
· HVAC Technician Training
· Culinary Arts programming

Using the Aspen Institute’s Ascend Model, DCAT will intentionally serve your whole family. If you go through our education and employment training, we will offer childcare, health and well-being support, and peer and family coaching and services.
